Andrew came up with a brilliant idea: strip lighting above the cupboards (use your imagination – they are covered up here for protection ) that will light up the beautiful ornate cornicing that we have in the bedroom. I can’t wait for the final effect, but you can get a glimpse of what it will look like here

I think once it is all up and we’ve painted and removed the dust cloths it will be a fantastic feature.

The stone tiles in the shower cubicle are almost up – just the last little bit to go, shower door goes on next and we’ll be using it next week when the boiler is ripped out and new boiler is installed.

The cubicle has been painted on the inside, ceiling lights (the cutest little things) are in, special strip lighting will be in soon, plumbing is in, toilet and taps to be connected. Door frame to be constructed to match the decorative ones in the rest of the house.

In the kitchen you can see the chimney breast finished off now and the wall to the right of it has been replastered. Lighting is in (and is fantastic … although you can’t see the final effect here as they have been pulled out, ready for painting the ceiling), radiator has gone to make way for a plinth heater and new electric sockets are ready to be connected to the distribution board. The old boiler comes out next week. The new kitchen will be installed on 30th April and should take 2 weeks.

Outside we have a new cast aluminium garden set (no pics yet). The sandstone paving has been ordered and will be laid as soon as I can find someone to do it (or can convince current builders to do it).

I cannot wait for it all to be finished. It doesn’t feel that far away anymore …
