Tim and I peered happened to notice that outside our bedroom window, the bramble bushes (that I normally hate!) are covered in blackberries. We have been meaning to go out and pick a few, but never really got down to it.
Today we had some time, so we took a ladder and got picking. We came away with quite a good harvest. Unfortunately they are quite small and very ripe, so we were struggling to keep them intact.
“What should we do with them”, we wondered, and both agreed on Blackberry and Apple Crumble! Together we got baking, and by the time I took the pictures, there were 17 minutes to go….
It was looking quite marvellous in the oven. We have some friends arriving in about an hour’s time, so we hope to save it for dinner tonight.
This might not be the best picture, but it will give you an indication of what it looked like whilst it was cooking.
There isn‘ t anything quite as satisfying as eating home grown produce, now is there?
