Whilst in Manchester, we took a quick stroll through the Manchester Craft and Design Centre, not looking for anything in particular, when I noticed Lily Greenwood’s small gallery.  She is one of my current favourite artists, but until then, I didn’t realise that she was Manchester based.  I couldn’t wait to get go in!

Now I do feel I need to say, the art looks at least 10 times as good and more striking in real life, than they do on pictures.  Once I stand in front of them I marvel at them and am completely tranfixed!

I have my heart set on one of her originals for my lounge.  However, we have just put in an offer for another investment property, and I think we need to hold onto our pennies over the next few months.  But once that is out of the way, I will be going back in to either pick one from stock, or commission one!

You can find her here:  Manchester Craft and Design Centre , Studio 25, 17 Oak Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M4 5JD, +44 (0)7545 993970.
However, my other favourite artist is Laura Jordan.  We own two of her prints.  Although, when I say ‘prints’, they are prints with a difference.  Each one has colour which has been uniquely added at the end.
It is difficult to describe her style other than to say that the name of the gallery that represents her, Delicate Mayhem, describes her work perfectly.  She does modern cityscapes, but layers the city’s iconic buildings and strutures with tiny details that only make sense if you know something about the city.
Our first one we picked was obviously Manchester.  But the thing I love about these pictures is that each time you look at them, you see something you never noticed before.
We loved our Manchester one so much, we bought another!  This time we picked a London one, which is called “Ritzy Extended”.  I just can’t get enough of them.
Once again, due to the detail in the originals, which are 900mm x 900mm large, you can’t really do them justice at this size!
